I've found a couple of posts already on the lists about the rather bizarre scrolling in Xcode but no answers:

one-line-cursor-move-by-arrow-keys-off-screen == one-half-page-fast scroll-AND-reposition-cursor

This is most definitely unpleasant behaviour in my eyes: it loses the eye's focus, it breaches that most important HCI rule of "don't move the mouse without the user's say-so" AND it offends bitterly against the principle of "least astonishment".

Does anyone know how to turn this scrolling behaviour back into some more proper and usual?

This is standard AppKit text view behavior and we haven't yet been able to override it in Xcode.
