Well, I can't speak to the Cocoa/Obj-c instance that you cite, but I ported several mach-o Carbon apps from Codewarrior to Xcode and then onto UBs without too many headaches. The import process was pretty simple, and, aside from a few settings I had to go in and dink with manually, I had no complaints.
