Distributed builds: 'Available' by 'unreachable'

  • Subject: Distributed builds: 'Available' by 'unreachable'

Hi all. I've trying to set up "Distributed Builds" so that I can utilise two machines to compile Xcode projects.

I have two Macs, called Charlie & Delta.

I installed Xcode on Delta (it's already installed on Charlie).

On Delta, I set the Distributed Builds Pane to "Share my computer..."; Delta.local then appears as a host and states that it is 'sharing'.

On Charlie, I set the Distributed Builds Pane to "Share my computer..."; Charlie.local then appears as a host and states that it is 'sharing' . Charlie.local then ALSO appears as a host on Delta (which presumably confirms that a connection has been established) BUT it appears as 'unreachable'.

I don't understand how Charlie.local can be 'unreachable' from Delta when it is obviously being FOUND. (I can even access files on Charlie from the Delta machine.)

Does anyone have any idea what I might be doing wrong?

Thanks a lot.

Phil
