It's an environment variable, so you can set or unset it as needed.
No need to rebuild.
I set a breakpoint before quit. Perhaps the MallocDebug tool lets you
run without this, but I've not had as much luck getting it to work.
I did get the MallocDebug to work, but my tests didn't come up with any
substantial reason why the
program crashes after a few minutes of running.
Is there anyone on this list experienced in "thread safety"? I looked
at the Apple App Notes on it,
and every AppNote I could find on the subject.
