Hi,
I seem to have problems keeping my X-Code project on an external
drive. I often have to move it from machine to machine. Each machine
has an identical copy of X-Code, same ver and everything. Libraries
are copied into the project, and not using copies from the System,
so everything is completely self contained, at least this is what I
thought.
Are there issues when developing on an external drive? If so,
what are they, and most important, what is an acceptable work
around?
I go to Executeables, myApp and open Info with Arguments tab selected.
Before on one machine, I had a whole bunch of Environment variable settings,
which I can enable or disable at will or when needed. Now, I move the
hard drive to another Mac, and this time I loose all of these variables.
Why? And how can I prevent this or take along these important variables.
It took me weeks to get the ones I want, now I lost all of this. Whats
going on? Is it now not recommended one develop a project on an external
drive? Why not? I'm sure a lot of other people are in same situations,
where they may not have access to just one machine all the time, as
opposed to getting access to a number of different machines at different
times.
And another question. If I set the environment variables within my project,
and I exit X-Code... are these environment variables reset to default, or
do they remain set?
So Now I launch X-Code, bring up my project, making sure I select the
appropriate
ones, and run the program. Ok, program crashes or later I exit the
program.
Do these environment variables still have their values in them, or are they
set back to the default values?
John
