While debugging my code, I reach a breakpoint at the line

which is a call for an existent C-function.
If I select Step Into, the program does not proceed to the
beginning of that function, but merely goes to the next line of the
current code, as if I had selected Step Over.

Is the object file that contains this function compiled with debugging info?

Jonas

Yes. According to the Run Log while building, the Active Build Configuration is Debug.
