Compilation server options

We about 10 developers running Xcode. We all share our machines for distcc but we would like to have more compiling power. We need the extra compiling power for big batch style compiling jobs, such as compiling 500 targets, and for day to day compiling for the developers.

We thought of two options:

1) Get a Xserve and use it both as the main batch compiler and also share it for distcc.

2) Get 5 Mac minis. Share them all for distcc. One of these will run the big compiling jobs, using the others through distcc.

Both options cost the same but which will get us faster compiles?
