My app should be endian proof, but I lack any intel mac to test it.
Is there a way to run an app in little endian under xcode on a ppc
machine?
You wouldn't want to do this even if it were possible. You really
want to test your software on the real thing. Otherwise you run a
serious risk of things that work in your testing not working on the
real thing.
If you have Intel-native software, you *will* need to test it on an
Intel Mac. Many of us had to bite the bullet and buy an Intel Mac for
this very reason, even though our PowerPC Macs were serving us
perfectly well in every other respect. On the bright side, Xcode
performs much better on an Intel Mac from what I hear. I didn't
switch to Xcode until I got an Intel Mac, so I don't have personal
experience in this area, but that's what I hear. And if you're using
a laptop, such as a PowerBook, you'll really see a significant
performance improvement. So a lot of us (probably most of us) now
have at least two Macs we can use for testing. I never used two
computers on a regular basis before I bought my MacBook Pro, but I do
now.
