You can do an awful lot with Lingo. It's more than sufficient for programming CD-Rom style interactive stuff, sprite-based games etc. It also allows you to build cross-platform with relatively few headaches and massively simplifies the process of integrating audio- visual assets into your work. My guess is that it would be sufficient for what you are trying to do and save you a whole lot of grief. And if it becomes not sufficient the programming structures you learn will be carried across to other programming languages (though the syntax will be different). You can even do object-oriented coding in Lingo to an extent, it's where I learnt it!


Note though that I only have a one-line description of what you want to do so I could be wrong!
