While I await more ideas about why my i386 build won't run, I've been changing project settings to see if anything helps. The last change I made was to switch from Fastest,Smallest [-Os] to None [- O0]. After that built, I was left with a bunch of undefined symbols. What would cause that to happen when previous builds showed no undefined symbols? All of them seem to be in libs that are in /usr/lib/, such as libz.

Ack! This same thing was happening last week or so, and the problem was that the target settings had overrides for the Framework and Library search paths that targeted the 10.3.9.sdk. I deleted those and all was well. Somehow, those settings got back into each target. Another $%*& full build will tell me if it's going to run on i386 this time.
