Dragging and option+drag do highlight Xcode, but does nothing more then bringing it to the front.I also tried to remove it from the dock, and did repair permissions - nothing works :( On 22/02/2006, at 08:43, ccsccs7 wrote: Okay, so when you drag a file to Xcode, does it highlight Xcode? If not, what happens if you do an OPTION+drop? Since Xcode is coming to the front, I'm assuming that it is. Repaired permissions? When you do a Get Info on an Xcode file, is it set to open with Xcode? "Another thing I just noticed is that selecting the quit from the dock menu does nothing, as well as trying to press command-q while switching between apps (using command-tab). XCode is the only app that has this problem..." This sounds kinda interesting. Have you tried removing the Xcode icon from the Dock and adding a new one? I hope you get this figured out. Actually, it doesn't make any different since even project files don't agree to be opened... :( - Ofri On 20/02/2006, at 22:21, Steve Mills wrote: On Feb 20, 2006, at 14:07, Ofri Wolfus wrote: I'm having a very strange problem with XCode. Whenever I double click a file that is supposed to be opened with XCode, XCode just comes to the front and does nothing. The same happens with dropping files on its dock icon and with the 'open' command. The really strange part is that I CAN open files by using the Open or Recent Projects menus. There is nothing in the console, and reinstalling the dev tools did no good. Does anyone know what's going on? Could it be opening the file in a hidden attached editor? Like if you have the Layout pref set to the default layout (I forget what it's called and I can't get to it without closing my project), but have the right half of the project window collapsed, it might be loading the file into that editor, so you don't actually see it. I hate that. Steve Mills Drummer, Mac geek http://sjmills5.home.mchsi.com/ |
