Hi all,

Just a general question:

I would like to develop a C++ simulation program on my
Mac machine. However, I have been told that the best
route is use VirtualPC and then install Microsoft
Visual C++.Net since it is the most popular
environment for C++. On the other hand, I have been
told that Virtual PC runs veryslow and it takes for
ever to deal with compling and compatibility issues.
Therefore, I have decided just to use Xcode
environment to develop a C++ program.

First, does anyone have an opinion about the above.

No reason to use MS C++ on your Mac (what does popular have to do with anything?). Xcode works with C++ (and Objective-C/C++, C, Java, etc.) as do many editors (BBEdit, various emacs based tools, etc.) and other IDEs.

Also, what is the best starting point to learn about
Xcode and setting up a C++ environment -- a website
link or a tutorial book would be nice. Thanks.

Apple Xcode documentation is good and they have a few tutorials.
