WTF: gdb warning: Mismatch between current function ...

  • Subject: WTF: gdb warning: Mismatch between current function ...

Since moving our builds up to the Xcode 2.2 toolset I have been experiencing an annoying warning (dumped to the console) from gdb whenever I hit a breakpoint and when stepping over function calls.

The warnings come in batches of literally hundreds (625 at one recent breakpoint). They are all of the form:

warning: Mismatch between current function "FunctionName1" and fun stack "FunctionName2" in: "FileName"

The warnings only appear once for a particular breakpoint or for a step over any particular function. The function names and file names all appear to be related to functions on the call stack.

Does anyone have any idea what causes this?

Googling the constant part of the string finds no particularly relevant hits. I've checked to make sure that I don't have gdb "complaints" to a non-zero number. "verbose" is also set to off.
