You have to tell us more if you want any reasonable feedback, most of us don't have psionic powers... Two ways for you to gather more information:


* Open the "Activity Viewer" window from the Window menu. Xcode lists most activities here (not all though).

* Use Shark to collect a report of Xcode what Xcode is up to.

If this "problem" is not associated with building, my guess is that it's probably either indexing, or dependency analysis.
