I'm trying to make a universal binary framework out of ffmpeg and I'm having a few issues. The biggest problem seems to be that some files need to be included only for ppc builds and other files need to be included only for i386 builds. I'm not sure how to instruct Xcode to only use those files with particular arches.

I'd like to do this without having to modify the source files if possible so I don't want to edit each file and put in the correct #ifdef.

There's no way to do this in Xcode today. I'd suggest filing a bug report.

For now, though, you'll have to #ifdef the files, or add your own files which #include the per-arch files and include those in your project instead of the real files. The former is probably cleaner unless you really can't change the source code.
