The same code compiled using GCC 4.0 to generate i386 code doesn't
even give a warning.
This doesn't compile for me with gcc for Intel. Which version of
gcc are you using? Type 'gcc -v' from the command line to see the
compiler version.
This is on my PowerBook G4, running Mac OS X 10.4.4, with Xcode 2.2.1
installed.
I tested by creating a new project, type "C++ Tool".
[tbook:~] me% gcc --v
Using built-in specs.
Target: powerpc-apple-darwin8
Configured with: /private/var/tmp/gcc/gcc-5250.obj~12/src/configure --
disable-checking -enable-werror --prefix=/usr --mandir=/share/man --
enable-languages=c,objc,c++,obj-c++ --program-transform-name=/^[cg]
[^.-]*$/s/$/-4.0/ --with-gxx-include-dir=/include/c++/4.0.0 --
build=powerpc-apple-darwin8 --host=powerpc-apple-darwin8 --
target=powerpc-apple-darwin8
Thread model: posix
gcc version 4.0.1 (Apple Computer, Inc. build 5250)
BTW, the same compiler behaviour a colleague observed on the
Developer Transition System running 8F1111 with Xcode 2.2.
Best regards,
