It's a bit pricey (145USD), but it's a great tool (it also does networks, flow charts, etc).

The only bummer part is it's export functions are kind of lacking.

As export options go, it has, i think, a decent range of formats...

It has great image exports to be sure, but what one can do with and image or a pdf is pretty limited - from a tool chain point of view. The only format that you could use in another process - to generate code or whatever - is that XML Visio export (It would be the cats meow if it exported to XMI). That was my only point. If you're just showing people something, it's export formats are vast.

The last time i looked at it, (more than a year ago) the argo UI was horrible.

Indeed. But it exports to formats that can be used in other processes.

So i switched to Omnigraffle, that at least let's me draw the diagram the way i want them to be.
And then i code the (Java) classes by hand.
Not round trip, for me, as a SW architect, code generation is second to getting the right kind of diagrams to explain my design.

If you're doing large systems, that would get kind of old. Especially since there is really no need to write a bunch of stub class files by hand. It's seems like a waste of time to me. But I fully agree with the getting the design right (auto generating the stub class allows for quick design testing too)

When you export the omnigrfle file as HTML map you can define actions for objects that would open a file by URL so one could use the diagram in the SW documentation with clickable links to various doc files.
Never tried doing this, though.

It's great for documentation, designing, or getting your thoughts down, and again it's what I use when architecting.

If you want anything more than "look at this picture" than it's lacking - was my only point. It's a great product.
