Universalizing Java-Cocoa application

Another question:

I have an application which includes Cocoa code and Java code in the same
target, that is, it is a Java/Cocoa application. XCode will not "upgrade"
this to Native. Is there a way to do this, or are Cocoa/Java applications
completely unsupported?

I know that Cocoa/Java is deprecated. The application is basically a Cocoa
view/controller with the model in Java. Is there any documentation about
converting from such an architecture to an Apple "approved" method for doing
this kind of thing.

Going forward at my company there will be increased pressure to do more an
more in Java (esp. To do cross platform with Windows). I would like to keep
using Cocoa, but are usage patterns like this completely discouraged? Must
I use SWT or Swing to use Java on the Mac?

Thank you for your help,

Chas.
