From time to time, my Xcode (2.2) editor starts beeping at me.  When it is in this mood, it beeps at every keystroke if there is an open parenthesis or bracket.  I'm not always in the mood for this.  How can I turn this behavior off (or on, if I should ever want to)?

One way that we know of that this happens is if you have two editor windows open on the same file, and in the non-active window the insertion point is sitting immediately to the right of an unbalanced parenthesis, bracket, or brace character.

The workaround is to activate the background window and press the left arrow key, then go back to your editing window.  The beeping will stop.

Within Apple this bug is known by the pet name "3955212."
