Missing file or directory (phantoms)

  • Subject: Missing file or directory (phantoms)

Comrades,

Somehow, Xcode has decided that the new files I added to my project (which were originally in a separate directory) should be in the / myproj/src directory, instead of the /myproj/src/newstuff/ directory (where I added them, and where I want them to reside).

I have tried removing/deleting and re-adding the files and cleaning/ re-building the project, but Xcode still seems to want to look for the new files in the wrong place.

At this point, I have gotten the project to build again by creating copies of these files in myproj/src, but this is a lousy way to do things. They already exist in (and are referenced from) the myproj/ src/newstuff directory, where I want them.

I can't find any references to these phantom files (the ones Xcode says it needs to find in the myproj/src directory) in any of the project's inspector dialogs.

The only visible references to the files are in the the project's / myproj/src/newstuff directory, where they belong. I have used the Inspector to verify the correct paths. There seem to be more references that Xcode is looking at, but I can't find them.
