I concur, and find it incredibly odd that this is the default for
Xcode. It should be off by default and offer a checkbox for the few
people who think it's a good idea to turn it on. Like most computer
users who've been bitten by power outages, crashing apps/OSs, and the
like, I learned years ago type hit command-s when ever I pause typing
for thought. Sometimes I realize that what I've typed is wrong, in
the wrong place, not the best solution, etc, so Undo will get
hammered until it's gone. I'll also undo back to a point so that I
can Copy old text that I've deleted or typed over, then redo back to
the "present". If the secret undo-past-save-warning pref didn't
exist, I'd be cranky and cussing on a daily basis (OK, crankier and
cussing more often:).
