I did this too. It's been a while, but I probably used some shareware/freeware app to convert it, like Cacophony. <http:// www.bannister.org/software/cacophony.htm> Save it as an AIFF, like the rest of the standard OS X sounds.



Cacophony did the trick. Thanks.

It feels strangely good to hear the metal stamp sound again. Almost like an old friend calling up and saying "I'm still alive."

Odd note, in the past iTunes would convert / play system 7 sounds,
but it won't with this one.

Could be the part of the Sound Manager that recognized the format has long since been deprecated.



It also feels strange to find out that a newer version of a piece of software has less capability than the old.
