asm instruction CVTSI2SS fails to compile

Hi,
with XCode 2.3 the compiler gives me an error on compiling the
following inline assembly :
__asm
{
// snip
CVTSI2SS xmm1, eax
// snip
}
the error is : error: address of register variable 'êx' requested
This does not happen with XCode 2.2. And according to my limited
knowledge of Intel/SSE assembly and the documentation I read this
should just compile fine.
Is this just wrong code, or is this a compiler bug ?
