There's no chance that that will work.  The bulk of Xcode is implemented in two frameworks in /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks, and in several plugins in /Library/Application Support/Apple/Developer Tools.  The Xcode.app application is a tiny fraction of the IDE, and doesn't happen to include the text editor at all.
