As a follow-up information:
I failed to mention that this problem only arose because I discovered
that the installed component's "Open using Rosetta" flag doesn't get
reset when this installed component (an application bundle) is
replaced by our installer package -- that's why I want to adjust it
programmatically.
To give some more insight into our installation routine:
basically, the installer runs a preflight script which deletes all
the installed components, then the installer application installs all
the components as expected, the postflight script adjusts some file
permissions.
Actually, as of Mac OS X 10.4.5 on a PPC Mac, the installed
component's "Label" Finder information is indeed lost during a remove/
install (a behaviour I did expect for the "Open using Rosetta" flag
as well).
Because our DTK (which runs Mac OS X 10.4.3 Build 8F1111) hasn't been
replaced by the Core Duo iMac yet, I'm not able to verify whether
this behaviour is the same for the "Open using Rosetta" Finder
information on a i386 Mac OS X 10.4.5.
Maybe someone is able to verify and share this information?
In case that flag is reset as well, I wouldn't have to change our
installation routine at all!
Best regards,
Dirk Stegemann

Therefore, I'd like to include a script / application which is
called by our installer package's postflight script and
programmatically disables the specific component's "Open using
Rosetta" flag, just in case it had been changed by the user in the
first place.
