Can "preparing to find" be disabled?

If I search my /Developer folder for certain text, it takes a minimum of 5
minutes to run through "Preparing to find" before it starts searching.
Usually the search completes in a few seconds.

I'm assuming the preparing to find is somehow trying to figure out how long
the search will take, and I really don't care. I just want the search to
start.

Anyone else having a similar experience?

CodeWarrior is much better at searching than Xcode...

Walter
