Extra files in the bundle

  • Subject: Extra files in the bundle

Hello,

Looking at several bundles on my Mac, I noticed people put extra files to various places in the bundle. Some put them into the Resources subdirectory, while some other put them in MacOS directory, or they just invent their own directory. So, if the bundle looks like this:

foo.app/
 Contents/
   Info.plist
   MacOS/
     foo
     fooAux
   Resources/
     fooRes1
     fooRes2
   Bar/
      fooBar1
      fooBar2

I know how to add files into Resources. How do I add files (not executables) into MacOS, and how do I create a random directory in the bundle such as in my example? Is this right way of package bundle, or should all files go to Resources and Bar should not exist? How about subdirectories of Resources or MacOS or Bar?

Thank you.

Andy
