I'm not sure if there is any newer sample code that compresses and
decompresses PICT files (that sample code is from 1994). Perhaps if
you post exactly what you're trying to do on the Carbon-Dev list.

SFTypeList is a very old type that is simply an array of OSTypes used
with the long-depricated StandardGetFile/SFGetFile functions. As far
as I know, that type no longer exists. What sample code did you
download that uses SFTypeList?
