error and warning flags in gutter of editor window

Dear all, I use an external target to compile via make and selecting errors and warnings from the "Build Results" window works just fine. But nothing is shown in the gutter of the editor window. Is there a way I can enable the nifty error/warning flags to show up in the gutter of the editor window?
