Is there any way to get the ordering of files in the "Groups & Files"
window in the all-in-one view to be alphabetical? Currently, they're
ordered pretty much at random, depending on where people dragged things
in, if Xcode added new files to the top or bottom, etc, and it makes it
very difficult to find anything.
We have a bunch of subfolders under our main project, but that doesn't
help as much as you'd think; is the file I'm after in the general
"Source Files" folder, in "Window Controllers", in the "Shared Code"
section, etc -- if I know for sure that a file is shared, that's great,
but if I just know it's called (say) mathutils.h, then I have to expand
every folder, scan through all the entries by eye (because they're not
sorted, so I can't just skip down to the M's), and hope I didn't miss
it.
What I'd like to do is get Xcode to sort things alphabetically. I could
always just go through and sort them all out by hand, but there's a
_lot_ of files in here one way and another, so that would be
time-consuming, and is vulnerable to getting broken again when new files
appear.
And on a similar subject, is there any way to find which project
subfolder a given file is in, if I know the name? I can find it in
Finder, and then double-click so Xcode'll open it, but that's not really
what I'm trying to do here, I'd like to keep working in Xcode as far as
possible.
thanks,
