Since updating to Quicktime 7.1, the following odd crash has been
taking place inside GetGraphicsImporterForDataRef(). The code is
attempting to load an image. It succeeds for several images, then
crashes on a particular image (which has not changed and has loaded
successfully for months).
What makes this an XCode problem rather than a Quicktime one is that
the crash does not happen if the project is built for the first
time. Modifying any source file and building/runnning causes the
crash. Cleaning and rebuilding does not result in a crash, but is
time consuming. The calls to Quicktime have not changed in a very
long time, so I don't think they're to blame.
Any ideas as to what could be causing this? This is on a dual G5
with OS X and Xcode up to date.
