multiple project confusion?
multiple project confusion?

Am I the only one who is confused by this behavior? Before I file a
feature request, I wonder what other people think.
My app loads a plugin. In order to debug the plugin, I have to have
both projects open. I build both as Debug and run. Everything works
fine except that I'm in the app project and the source for the plugin
shows up in that window. Then I switch from the Debug view to the
Project view but I'm in the wrong project. Thinking about it, I
realize it goes further to the behavior of opening non-project files
inside the project window.
Thinking about this more, I realize (and this must get old but) that
I want Eclipse style behavior. It makes sense to show the source code
for the plugin in the Debugger window but it's not a great place to
do code editing so I switch to the Project view but now I'm in the
wrong project even though I'm looking at the source. So if I build
(because the title bar indicates the name of the file and then the
project so I overlook it) then I build the wrong thing.
I'm not even sure now what I want (Objective-C editor, debugger, and
compiler for Eclipse?) but I can't find a good configuration for
XCode. I use the All-in-One config. I think I'm looking for a
discussion. Maybe I'm using XCode wrong. I've been using this stuff
since ProjectBuilder in WebObjects 4 so I feel like I'm familiar with
it but I just can't find a comfortable place. I have felt for a long
time that XCode doesn't know what it wants to be and that's still how
it feels. How do you all use XCode? Which config works best for you?
Any thoughts?
Marc
