iTunes obviously runs a realtime thread to decode MP3s. I've
connected an old PowerMac 7600, Mac OS X 10.4.3, to the stereo and as
you can guess, it doesn't take much to get this 132 MHz CPU
exhausted. Still, iTunes runs without droputs under even the heaviest
load. Until the box starts serious swapping, of course.
So, might there be something wrong with i386's realtime model?
