Annoyingly, you have to sort in the View > Detail window if you want to use the logical Condensed layout or, I guess, the annoying All-In-One layout (which I've never used). Probably if you use the Default layout you can sort in that.

Ah! Thanks for the tip David. It's not like I sort every two minutes, so it's back to Condensed layout for me.
