Automatic help book indexing without GUI process?

  • Subject: Automatic help book indexing without GUI process?

Is anyone automating the indexing of their help books, or re-indexing by hand when someone changes part of the help book?

The GUI Help Indexer doubles as the command line tool. Two problems arise from this dual-existence:

- When building from Xcode's GUI, the Help Indexer GUI makes a momentary appearance in the Dock. (Which I find distracting :-)).
- Automated builds using xcodebuild remotely (no window server) fail.

Is anyone using the tool in command line "mode" to automate building of help indexes? Any solutions to the above, or recommendations?

Thanks,
Jim
