One of our developers keeps his Xcode project and source tree on a removable hard disk, so he can unplug it and take it home with him at the end of the day. The problem is, Xcode seems to want to always recompile every file in the project each time he does a Build. Any ideas on how I can diagnose this problem?

I think it normally depends on the location assigned to the "Intermediates" folder.
