Xcode is giving me a debugger error -- "GDB: Timed out fetching data.
Variable display may be inaccurate". In addition it takes about 30
seconds with GDB using 98% of CPU to step from one line to the next.
Plus, "step over" is now sometimes unexpectedly getting me into
assembly, with stack entries like "<function called from gdb>".
I know that one way to deal with this is to turn off data formatters
in the debugger display.
Is there any way to deal with this that does not involve making the
debugger radically less useful than normal? I've been working on the
same project for a couple of weeks without trouble, and yesterday GDB
suddenly started having this problem.
Now it seems my choices are either to lose the utility of the data
formatters vs. taking a coffee break every time I step to the next
line.
This is on a 1.83GHz MacBook Pro, Mac OS X 10.4.8, Xcode 2.4.
