That would do it.
I was focused on thinking of those annoying weather
animation loops that jerk to a stop just as you're
beginning to get a feel for the directions of movement, and
then replay a dozen times, when what I'd really like is one
smooth animation that runs for maybe 30-60 seconds (rather
than 3-5 seconds) and replay only once or twice while the
person chatters.
But for an iconimation, keeping it short is important, too,
so a 3 or 4 second cycle might be reasonable. In this
case, it might show the screen being ripped apart and then
settling down into 2 views and sitting there for a second
before the animation repeats. Or maybe it only repeats
when you move away and then hover over it again. You'd see
it with the current setting while you waited for it to
trigger, do its dance and end up with the proposed new setting.
