In Xcode 2.4 (and I am pretty sure in 2.3 as well) use the OSType
formatting choice either in the Debug->Variables View menu, or
through the context menu on the variables in the locals view.
For earlier versions of Xcode you will have to write an expression.

Can I view a long as four chars?
I could just select "View as character" in CW, and the number would
change to four characters. But Xcode does not seem to be as
intuitive; it shows only one char.
How do I tell Xcode to view the long (four bytes) as four
characters (not a number)?
Do I need to write an expression?
Thank you.
Best,
Jeff
