libgmalloc on MacBook Pro

  • Subject: libgmalloc on MacBook Pro

I am trying to use libgmalloc on a MacBook Pro with gcc version 4.0.1 (Apple Computer, Inc. build 5367). My application dies in GMmalloc. It would seem to me that the guard allocator should catch any errors that would cause GMmalloc to fail, and should *not* die in GMmalloc. Is this observation correct? Or is a fault in GMmalloc an indication of a memory bug in my application? If it is a problem in my application dieing in GMmalloc doesn't help me debug it.

As a side note the mudflap compiler/linker option cannot be currently used as the required header files and libraries are nowhere to be found...
