Is there a way to control the name of the output file of simple projects on a per-configuration basis? I'm using Xcode 2.4.1.

I know the usual way is to use the same name in per-configuration folders, but have been told to put everything in a single folder and use a _d suffix on debug libraries executables. If it can't be done, fine, but I'd like to make sure it can't be done before I say that. :)

This is primarily for libraries (static and dynamic) and command-line tools. It isn't as important to stick to this directory structure with .app bundles, etc.

Take a look at the "Product Name" build setting. I use it to give my libraries distinct "debug" and "release" names. (But I don't put them in the same directory.)
