This clearly a compiler bug and you should submit to Apple as requested.
The transcript below generated on a Macbook Pro Core Duo shows the following: 1. Compiling for an i386 target with Apples Xcode 2.4.1 compiler causes an ICE. 2. Compiling for PPC works with Xcode 2.4.1. 3. Compiling for i386 using an FSF gcc 4.2 from the svn at 11 April works.
[MBP-OGN:Public/Darwin/Test] billn% g++ -c -o test.o -F Accelerate -F Carbon test.cpp test.h: In function 'void foo()': test.h:22: internal compiler error: Segmentation fault Please submit a full bug report, with preprocessed source if appropriate. [MBP-OGN:Public/Darwin/Test] billn% g++ -c -o test.o -arch ppc -faltivec -F Accelerate -F Carbon test.cpp [MBP-OGN:Public/Darwin/Test] billn% /usr/local/gcc-4.2/bin/g++ -c -o test.o -FAccelerate -FCarbon test.cpp [MBP-OGN:Public/Darwin/Test] billn%
You should submit this to Apple with your code and the transcript above. They have previously committed to fixing any failures in Apple compilers that do not occur on FSF compilers.
Cheers Bill Northcott
PS Why ARE you trying to build i386 code on a G5?? |
