Ok, that's not so odious as I expected. Now's a good time for me
to change so I'll install 2.5 later on tonight.
I had 1 miniscule anomally:
Dashcode.app was not uninstalled -- Separate install, so ok.
PackageMaker.app was not uninstalled -- ??
Apart from that I've compiled 4 components, 1 osax, 1 framework, 1
Carbon app, and 1 Cocoa app (with a WebView). All them ran shell
script phases with no problems. So great! Leisurely migration is
possible.
Cool. Just remember that you can't ship anything built with Xcode
2.5 until a GM version is officially released. :)
BTW, is there any strong reason why Rez and DeRez can't be placed
in a normal Mac OS X release tool directory? They're very handy
for things related to OSA component scripting languages.
I agree.
With the addition of /Developer/usr/bin, there is no long-term need
for /Developer/Tools to exist. In upcoming Xcode developer tools
releases you'll see much of the content in /Developer/Tools move
to /Developer/usr/bin (with /Developer/Tools eventually going away
at some point in the future).
Sorry, I meant in /usr/bin and available to non-developer-install users.
Also for GetFileInfo and SetFile.
I view these 4 tools as peers and compliments to osacompile,
osascript, defaults, xsltproc, etc. Scripting related stuff.
