My application uses an NSTask to launch and monitor a Unix task. The application crashes if the task ever writes anything to standard error. If it only writes to standard output, it works OK. This code is old and stable and these crashes only happen in Leopard. The crash log shows it crashing between the time my tasks writes to standard error and the time it gets to the NSPipe handler in my application.

The strange part is that it only crashes if I build and run the application from XCode. After a crash, I can launch the executable that was just created using the Finder and it runs fine.
