Lost markers after Reference Library update

On 12/24/2007 I let Xcode update "Core Reference Library" etc. using the RSS-style update (that produces the filled circle progress indicator). Post-update all the files are there but the markers/ bookmarks internal to each file have now disappeared. Now I sometimes thought there were too many of these, but they were handy. Should I file a bug report or it this the way it is supposed to be?
BTW for some of us running Xcode on multiple systems it seemed to save time and make more sense to download the large doc updates once, then update all local systems off the same download dmg.... In other words, I'm not sure the RSS system is progress. It also takes away some control.... if there were serious or major changes in the doc (there are not, as a practical matter) the RSS-style system could potentially create a version control nightmare...
