Because then you might be able to do what I did. Create an Xcode project;
create the 2 targets; dump all files into both targets; select each target
in turn and turn off the files that don't belong to it.

This depends on 2 things:

- that you have a naming convention which allows you to easily search for
the files that don't belong to a particular target;

- that when you click the project, it displays a flattened list of all the
files in the project, which you can search instantly by typing in the search
field
