My application has  a main thread and a helper thread...

Is there any way to schedule multiple threads in a single processor on
a dual core system..

Even if this is/were possible, it would at most make the crash less frequent. If you have a data race somewhere, it can also happen on a single cpu system (because scheduling in not deterministic). You will have to fix your program.
