The problem is resolved.
The point is I put the #include <xmmintrin.h> in a namespace brace by
mistake.
namespace BOO {
#if defined(__VEC__)
...
#elif defined(__SSE__)
#include <xmmintrin.h>
...
#endif
} // end of namespace BOO.
The include statement should be out of the namespace area.

Hi,
I am developing scientific applications using SIMD architectures
(Altivec, SSE). My problem happens for SSE program.
When compile my SSE program the compiler claims an error "__m128
does not name a type" in spite of the source file including
<xmmintrin.h>.
I referred to the apple's sample program "Architecture-Specific
Code" at
http://developer.apple.com/documentation/MacOSX/Conceptual/
universal_binary/universal_binary_matrix_a/chapter_951_section_2.html
The strange thing is that the SIMD code is included in several
source codes but the error happens in a specific source code.
However the source code claims no error when using Altivec. The
source code includes #if __VEC__ #elif __SSE__ #end for fitting the
two different SIMD architecture as is in the Apple's sample code
mentioned above.
The detail of the error code is:
/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Frameworks/
CarbonCore.framework/Headers/MachineExceptions.h: At global scope:
/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Frameworks/
CarbonCore.framework/Headers/MachineExceptions.h:254: error:
'__m128' does not name a type
My environment is:
MacBook Pro 2.16 Intel Core Duo 2.0GB Memory
Mac OS X 10.4.9
Xcode 2.4.1
I appreciate any solutions/suggestions for solutions. Thank you.
