So, I've been playing around with Custom Data Formatters a little
and it is working rather well, but there is one part I am not
certain about.
Here is my plist:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple Computer//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN"
"http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
<plist version="1.0">
<dict>
<key>File Version</key>
<string>1</string>
<key>CSString</key>
<dict>
<key>SummaryString</key>
<string>{(long)$VAR.length}/{(long)$VAR.maxSize} '{(char*)
($VAR).stringData}:s'</string>
</dict>
<key>CSString *</key>
<dict>
<key>SummaryString</key>
<string>{(long)(*$VAR).length}/{(long)(*$VAR).maxSize})
'{(char*)(*$VAR).stringData}:s'</string>
</dict>
</dict>
</plist>
Now, I have a function:
void AFunction( const CSString &name )
{
CSString aCopy = name;
// some more stuff here
}
Now, the summary column in the debugger shows the right thing for
the 'aCopy' variable, but the summary column is empty for the
'name' variable.
What do I need to place in the plist file so the debugger can
display the summary for the 'name' variable?
Found the answer myself.
I had tried using the key:
<key>CSString &</key>
But, apparently it does not like the '&' character. Once I changed it
to:
<key>CSString &</key>
it worked perfectly.
