Normally one would:
• make a backup copy of /System/Library/PreferencePanes/Displays.prefPane • use Administrator privileges to make it read/write • use InterfaceBuilder to open the .nib file(s) inside Displays.prefPane/Resources/English.lproj • set the Hidden bit on the feature you desire to hide
But that particular preference pane lays out its user interface elements with code, not the .nib file, so this technique doesn't work with that particular pane. Sorry.
